If you follow my screencasts regularly, then you will know I am a big fan of adding a little vignetting (darkening of the corners) to my images. Heck! I even created a whole series of actions called the “Vignette Maker” just for Photoshop. But what if you want to create a vignette non-destructively in Lightroom or ACR? Yes, I know we can all do that with the post-crop vignette. No brainer! Ah, but what if you want to off-set the vignette? Watch the screencast after the jump for the work around.

Have you ever shot a RAW image, “chimped” the LCD on the back of the camera and thought “Nice One” only to be disappointed later when you download the image onto your computer? So in this article I will discuss both the photography and Lightroom 2 / Photoshop techniques I used to achieve a simple yet very effective sequence of images into a canvas print.

In this screencast I will show you how to do a non-destructive Black & White infrared technique in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2. The secret to this techniques is to choose an image that has a lot of foliage and grass etc in the shot. So this is one for landscape photographer inside you! Nothing can ever replace an actual infrared image shot with either a DSLR converted for the purpose or infrared film, but this technique comes pretty close. Enjoy!
